ACP Shiva (Motta Siva Ketta Siva) (2017)

Summary:

Shiva, a corrupt and flamboyant police officer, is transferred to a new city where he forms a team of equally corrupt cops. He initially aligns himself with a ruthless gangster, G. K., but his true motives are revealed to be far more complex. Shiva is on a secret mission to expose the criminal empire of G. K. and his father, a powerful minister, who were responsible for the death of his mentor and former superior, ACP Rathnavel. The film follows Shiva's journey of revenge and justice, blending his "corrupt" persona with his hidden noble intentions.

Detailed Plot (Movie Story):

The film introduces ACP Shiva (Raghava Lawrence), a seemingly corrupt and mischievous police officer. He is known for his eccentric behavior, his flamboyant style, and his willingness to bend the rules for personal gain. However, he is also a formidable fighter and a sharp-witted investigator.

Shiva gets a transfer to Chennai, a city under the thumb of two powerful and corrupt figures: G. K. (Ashutosh Rana), a ruthless gangster, and his father, a highly influential and morally bankrupt minister, Bala (Sathyaraj).

Upon arriving in Chennai, Shiva forms a team of equally corrupt police officers. He immediately aligns himself with G. K., creating a facade of being in his pocket. Shiva's corrupt actions seem to be for his own benefit, but in reality, they are a part of a larger, long-term plan for revenge.

Through a series of flashbacks, the audience learns the tragic backstory that fuels Shiva's mission:

Years ago, Shiva was a young and dedicated police officer who worked under the guidance of his senior and mentor, ACP Rathnavel (Jeeva). Rathnavel was an honest and brave officer who was determined to expose G. K. and Bala's criminal activities. However, in a brutal act of vengeance, G. K. and his men murdered Rathnavel. The case was covered up, and Rathnavel was falsely implicated as a corrupt officer. Shiva, devastated by the loss of his mentor, was forced to bide his time. He chose to adopt the persona of a corrupt cop, believing he could only infiltrate the criminal network by playing their own game.

Back in the present, Shiva uses his position and his feigned corruption to systematically dismantle G. K.'s empire from the inside. He starts by targeting G. K.'s henchmen and disrupting his illegal operations. He also befriends Jaanu (Nikki Galrani), a journalist who is initially skeptical of his methods but later understands his true intentions and becomes his love interest.

The film's comedic element is largely driven by Shiva's interactions with his corrupt team, his seemingly bizarre actions, and the reactions of the public and his superiors, who are unaware of his real plan.

The plot thickens as Shiva's actions begin to truly threaten G. K. and Bala's power. They realize that Shiva is not the easily controllable cop they thought he was. The climax involves a massive showdown between Shiva and the minister's men. Shiva, having gathered crucial evidence against G. K. and Bala, exposes their crimes to the public and the media, thereby clearing Rathnavel's name and bringing justice to his memory. The film concludes with Shiva triumphing over the villains, fulfilling his promise to his deceased mentor, and cementing his status as a "good cop" under a "bad cop" disguise.
