Their investigation leads them to a disturbing pattern: a series of unidentified bodies dumped near the railway tracks between Kakinada and Tada railway stations. Athreya, with his keen observational skills and knowledge of local customs, discovers a crucial clue: according to railway regulations, unclaimed bodies are cremated by the railway authorities after 72 hours. This suggests a sinister purpose behind dumping the bodies in this specific location.
Athreya deduces that the bodies are being transported on a Chennai-to-Delhi goods train. He and Bobby, along with Sneha and SI VAMSI, a reluctant but increasingly supportive police officer, devise a plan. Athreya fakes his own death to mislead their pursuers and create an opportunity to infiltrate the operation.
In a tense and dangerous operation, they travel to Arambakkam in Tamil Nadu, where they discover the horrifying truth. They catch Gopalam, who, under pressure, confesses everything. Gopalam reveals that he was hired by a shadowy organization to collect dead bodies from grieving Hindu families under the guise of performing a holy cremation in Kasi, a place of spiritual significance. In exchange for money, these families, often poor and desperate, unknowingly hand over the remains of their loved ones. Instead of being cremated with dignity, the bodies are callously dumped near the railway tracks.
Athreya is personally devastated by this revelation, realizing that this gruesome practice may have even happened with his own mother, adding a deeply emotional layer to his quest for justice.
The investigation takes an even darker turn as Athreya and Bobby uncover the motive behind this macabre operation. They deduce that the organization is stealing the fingerprints of the deceased to use them for nefarious purposes - committing crimes, rigging elections, and other forms of identity fraud on a massive scale. The dead, unable to speak, become the perfect victims.
Athreya and Bobby further realize that they were being framed and set up to fail because the organization wanted to prevent them from finding the Bethaballi Amman's (a powerful religious NGO) talismans on the dead bodies. These talismans, sacred objects that are supposed to be removed before final disposition, hold a key piece of evidence that could expose the organization's network and their connections to influential figures.
Meanwhile, Sneha and SI Vamsi, working on a parallel track, discover that Ajay, Harsha, and Vasudha were criminology graduates who were working on a college project about religious crimes in India. They manage to recover their photos, providing Athreya with a crucial breakthrough.
Looking at the photos, Athreya has a chilling epiphany: Vasudha is not dead. She is alive and is the mastermind behind the entire operation.
