BONE TOMAHAWK (2015)
Summary:
In the unforgiving American Old West, a small, determined posse embarks on a perilous journey to rescue three townsfolk kidnapped by a reclusive and brutal clan of cannibalistic troglodytes. When a drifter inadvertently leads the savage cave dwellers to the peaceful frontier town of Bright Hope, they abduct the deputy, a local doctor, and the drifter himself. The town's sheriff, an injured cowboy, an aging deputy, and an eccentric frontiersman must venture into a desolate, uncharted territory known to be home to these monstrous beings.
The film masterfully blends elements of a classic Western with intense horror, exploring themes of courage, resilience, and the sheer brutality of survival on the frontier. It is noted for its slow-burn narrative, strong character development, and sudden, graphic violence that challenges genre conventions.

Plot:
The story begins with two outlaws, Purvis and Buddy, desecrating graves. They are ambushed by unseen figures, resulting in Buddy's gruesome death. Purvis escapes, unknowingly leading a band of savage troglodytes to the quiet town of Bright Hope. There, he is captured and imprisoned by Sheriff Franklin Hunt. That night, the troglodytes raid the town, kidnapping Purvis, Deputy Nick, and Samantha O'Dwyer, the wife of injured cowboy Arthur O'Dwyer, who was serving as the town's doctor.
Sheriff Hunt, despite skepticism from some townsfolk, forms a small rescue party. It consists of himself, Deputy Chicory (an elderly, loyal man), the refined but vengeful John Brooder, and Arthur O'Dwyer, who insists on joining despite his broken leg. Their journey takes them through a harsh, barren landscape. Along the way, they face various challenges, including a tense encounter with Mexican outlaws and the gradual realization of the extreme danger posed by their quarry. The group's dynamic is tested as Arthur's injury worsens and the true nature of the troglodytes becomes horrifyingly apparent through gruesome discoveries.
Upon reaching the troglodytes' cave system, the remaining members of the posse discover the full extent of the cannibals' barbarity. They find the captives, brutally tortured, and witness further atrocities. A desperate battle for survival ensues, marked by extreme violence and shocking sacrifices. The film culminates in a harrowing escape attempt, where the few survivors must confront their deepest fears and endure unimaginable horrors to return to civilization, forever changed by their encounter with the primal evil lurking in the wilderness.
