The story centers around Pritam, affectionately known as Pappu, an aging bus driver whose life is complicated by his three ne'er-do-well sons: Madhav, the self-proclaimed leader of the pack; Laxman, the well-meaning but often clueless poet; and Lucky, the innocent and mute youngest brother. This trio is constantly embroiled in schemes, primarily focused on conning unsuspecting individuals, much to their father's chagrin. Their lives intersect with those of Geeta, or Guddi, another elderly figure, and her two sons: Laxman, who struggles with a stammer, and Gopal, the strong and kind-hearted leader of their small water sports business. Gopal and Laxman's partner in this venture is Daboo, Gopal's girlfriend, who adds another layer of complexity to the already tangled narrative. Their business operates on the beach, funded by the local don, Vasooli Bhai.
The catalyst for the ensuing chaos is a stolen queen's necklace. Madhav, Laxman (referred to as Laxman 2 to differentiate him from Geeta's son), and Lucky's own don, Pappi, along with his henchmen, Daga and Teja, commit the robbery. While on the run from the police, they find themselves in Goa. Pappi, plagued by a severe case of short-term memory loss, impulsively hides the necklace in Pritam's house, setting the stage for a series of misunderstandings and comedic mishaps.
Fate brings the two families together at a bar in Goa. Pritam's sons, sensing an opportunity, set up a rival water sports business directly across from Geeta's sons' established stall. This sparks an intense rivalry, marked by escalating pranks and attempts to sabotage each other's operations. Each attempt, however, backfires hilariously, leading to more chaos and escalating the feud. In an attempt to resolve the escalating conflict, Pritam seeks out Geeta, unaware that she is his college sweetheart. Their meeting leads to a rekindling of old flames, a fact overheard by Daboo, who sees an opportunity to unite the two families. Without the knowledge or consent of their sons, Daboo orchestrates a marriage between Pritam and Geeta.
The newly formed, albeit unconventional, family moves into one house, creating a hotbed of constant laughter, bickering, and further attempts by the sons to evict each other. The household becomes a stage for farcical situations, with both groups trying and failing to assert their dominance. During Daboo's birthday celebration at a mall, their past catches up with them. Raghu, one of Pritam's sons' many debtors, attacks the group, and Geeta is injured in the process. Gopal, who had previously distanced himself from the family squabbles, arrives just in time, and the five sons unite to fight off Raghu and his goons.
The aftermath of this incident brings a moment of introspection for the sons. They realize that their constant infighting and inability to resolve their own problems have caused pain to both Pritam and Geeta. A heated argument erupts between Pritam, Geeta, and Daboo, during which Lucky overhears a shocking revelation: he and his brothers are not Pritam and Geeta's biological sons, but orphans. Daboo, in her frustration, threatens to reveal this truth to the brothers, but Lucky overhears her conversation. After Lucky informs his brothers, Daboo confirms the story, revealing that they were all adopted. The brothers, now united by this shared secret, make a pact to never reveal their knowledge to Pritam and Geeta and to embrace each other as true brothers.
Seeking a more stable future, the five brothers, with the financial assistance of Vasooli Bhai and Pappi, open a large toy store. During the grand opening, Pappi's memory is jogged, and he remembers where he hid the stolen necklace. He decides to turn himself in, but in a comedic twist, he accidentally implicates Pritam in the robbery, leading to a farcical chase and a series of misunderstandings. Pritam eventually finds the necklace amidst the chaos and, with the help of Gopal and Daboo, who trick Pappi into revealing the hiding place, apprehends Pappi and his gang.
With the necklace incident resolved, Pritam and Geeta finally embark on their long-delayed honeymoon. Back at the house, the five brothers engage in yet another argument, this time over room assignments. Daboo, exasperated by their constant bickering, tries to intervene, but her pleas fall on deaf ears. In a moment of comedic frustration, she breaks the fourth wall, addressing the camera and declaring that she can no longer tolerate their antics, stating that only one man can stop them. She then pulls the director of the film, Rohit Shetty, and other crew members into the frame. The entire cast and crew join in an attempt to quell the brothers' argument, creating even more chaos and ending the film on a note of delightful pandemonium. The film's ending, a meta-theatrical moment of orchestrated chaos, perfectly encapsulates the film's overall tone: a lighthearted and often absurd comedy of errors, centered on the complexities of family, the unexpected bonds that can form, and the power of laughter in the face of adversity.
