Summary:

Teenager Zach Cooper moves to a new town and quickly discovers that his mysterious next-door neighbor is none other than R.L. Stine, the reclusive author of the best-selling Goosebumps series. Zach soon learns that Stine harbors a dangerous secret: the monsters from his popular horror stories are real, and he keeps them locked away in their original manuscripts to protect the world.

When Zach accidentally unleashes the creatures from their literary prison, he, along with Stine and his daughter Hannah, must team up to round up all the monsters and re-imprison them before they can wreak havoc and destroy the town. The film blends comedy, fantasy, and horror elements, bringing to life many iconic Goosebumps characters.

Plot:

Upset about moving from New York City to the quiet town of Madison, Delaware, teenager Zach Cooper finds a glimmer of excitement in his new neighbor, the enigmatic Hannah, and her overprotective father. Zach soon learns that Hannah's father is the famous horror author R.L. Stine, who keeps a collection of his original Goosebumps manuscripts under lock and key.

Driven by curiosity and concern for Hannah, Zach and his new friend Champ break into Stine's house. They accidentally unlock one of the manuscripts, inadvertently releasing the Abominable Snowman of Pasadena. Stine arrives, re-captures the Snowman, and reveals that the monsters from his books are real and are kept imprisoned in the manuscripts to protect the world. More books are accidentally opened, releasing various iconic monsters, including Slappy the Dummy, who becomes the primary antagonist. Slappy burns the manuscripts, preventing Stine from easily re-imprisoning the creatures. The group, including Stine, Zach, Hannah, and Champ, must race against time to create a new manuscript to trap all the monsters back inside. They eventually succeed, but Hannah, who was a creation of Stine's imagination, is also pulled back into the book. Stine writes a new book to bring Hannah back, but a final, unfinished manuscript hints that Slappy has once again escaped.
