Two features combined under one title. One has Mike, a stuntman, killing women using his car; the other has a bunch of people fighting for survival against the flesh-eating zombies.

Grindhouse (2007)

Grindhouse is a 2007 American double feature film co-written and co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. It is an homage to the exploitation B-movies that were popular in 1970s grindhouse theaters. The theatrical release was presented as a single program with two full-length features, complete with fake trailers and missing reels, to replicate the experience of watching a worn-out double feature.

Film Structure

The theatrical release of Grindhouse consisted of:

  1. Fake Trailer #1: Machete (Dir. Robert Rodriguez)

  2. Feature Film 1: Planet Terror (Dir. Robert Rodriguez)

  3. Intermission

  4. Fake Trailer #2: Werewolf Women of the S.S. (Dir. Rob Zombie)

  5. Fake Trailer #3: Don't (Dir. Edgar Wright)

  6. "Missing Reel" (A brief, intentional jump in the film)

  7. Fake Trailer #4: Thanksgiving (Dir. Eli Roth)

  8. Feature Film 2: Death Proof (Dir. Quentin Tarantino)

Note: In the U.S. theatrical release, the fake trailer for Hobo with a Shotgun (Dir. Jason Eisener) was included in some Canadian and other international prints, but not the primary U.S. theatrical release.
