Aparna must then navigate this supernatural chaos, uncover the truth about Diya's past, and confront the villains responsible for her plight.
Detailed Plot (Movie Story):
The film begins with a flashback showing four sorcerers attempting to trap an enraged spirit that is seeking revenge. They manage to lure the spirit using the blood of four men it wishes to avenge and successfully imprison it within a mystical crystal. The legend states that anyone who spills their blood on this crystal will gain control of the spirit and have their wishes fulfilled. However, if the crystal breaks, the spirit will be freed, leading to catastrophic consequences.
In the present day, we meet Aparna (Hansika Motwani), an interior designer. She has always considered herself unlucky, experiencing various misfortunes in her life. She gets a job at a prestigious construction company in Chennai. One day, while at a construction site, she accidentally steps on a nail, and her blood drips onto the ancient crystal. Unbeknownst to her, this act transfers control of the trapped spirit to her.
Soon, Aparna starts experiencing strange occurrences: whatever she strongly wishes for or says out loud with feeling begins to come true. Initially, she is thrilled by this newfound ability, as it brings positive changes to her life and helps her overcome her perceived bad luck.
However, the situation quickly turns ominous. Aparna notices that whenever her wishes are granted, something bad, often deadly, happens to someone else. People around her start dying mysteriously. Frightened and confused, she seeks help from a psychologist, Dr. Rudhran (M. J. Shriram), trying to understand the bizarre occurrences.
As the narrative unfolds, the horror elements come to the forefront. Aparna discovers the root cause of these events: the spirit of a young mother named Diya (Diya), who was brutally killed by the bosses of Aparna's own company and their associates, has entered her body. Diya's spirit is using Aparna as a vessel to exact revenge on those responsible for her death.
The film then delves into Diya's tragic backstory, revealing who she was and why she was murdered. The plot turns into a revenge drama, with Aparna, unknowingly at first, facilitating Diya's vengeful mission.
The climax sees Aparna fully realizing her role and the horrifying truth. She faces a moral dilemma, caught between the vengeful spirit and her own life. The story builds towards a confrontation with the corrupt company bosses and their cronies who were responsible for Diya's death. The "guardian" title aptly refers to Aparna becoming a vessel or guardian for the avenging spirit. The film concludes with the resolution of Diya's revenge, and Aparna's fate after this supernatural ordeal.
