Summary:

Plot:

Alice Kepley takes a break from her college boyfriend, Josh, and moves to New York City to work as a paralegal. There, she quickly befriends her new co-worker, Robin, a free-spirited party girl who embraces her single life with gusto. Robin takes Alice under her wing, teaching her the ropes of one-night stands, dating apps, and the general etiquette of being single in the city. Alice struggles to adjust, often finding herself missing Josh and questioning her decision.

Simultaneously, Alice's older sister, Meg, a successful and commitment-averse obstetrician, decides she wants to have a baby via sperm donor, eschewing the need for a partner. However, after meeting Ken, a younger man she initially dismisses, she finds herself unexpectedly drawn to him. Their friend Lucy, meanwhile, is obsessively focused on finding "the one" through various dating apps and algorithms, often overlooking genuine connections in her pursuit of an idealized partner.
