Plot:

In Pittsburgh, a sniper targets five random people in a mass shooting. Former U.S. Army sniper James Barr is quickly arrested, with overwhelming evidence pointing to his guilt. During interrogation, Barr writes "Get Jack Reacher" on a notepad. Reacher, a former military police investigator, arrives in Pittsburgh, initially convinced of Barr's guilt due to a past encounter with him where Reacher vowed to bring him down if he ever re-emerged.

However, Reacher agrees to investigate the case at the behest of Helen Rodin, Barr's defense attorney and the daughter of the District Attorney. As Reacher delves deeper, he uncovers inconsistencies in the evidence and realizes that Barr might be a patsy in a much larger, more sophisticated conspiracy. He teams up with Helen to navigate the dangerous underworld of powerful figures, including the mysterious and brutal "The Zec" and his henchman Charlie, who are determined to cover up their tracks and eliminate anyone who gets close to the truth.
