Summary:

Jumper is a science fiction action film that follows David Rice, a young man who discovers he possesses the ability to instantly teleport anywhere in the world. Plot:

The film begins with David Rice, a shy high school student, discovering his ability to teleport (or "jump") after falling through ice and miraculously appearing in a library. He immediately uses this power to escape his abusive father and embark on a life of luxury, robbing banks and living lavishly by jumping to exotic locations around the globe. Years later, David lives a comfortable but solitary existence, avoiding forming deep connections.

His past catches up when he is confronted by Roland Cox, a zealous leader of the Paladins, an ancient secret society dedicated to hunting and killing jumpers, whom they view as an affront to God. David quickly realizes he's not the only jumper, encountering Griffin O'Conner, a cynical and experienced jumper who has been fighting the Paladins for years. Griffin reveals the long-standing war between their kind and the Paladins, explaining that jumpers are born with their abilities and have existed for centuries. As David attempts to reconnect with his childhood crush, Millie Harris, he inadvertently draws her into the dangerous conflict. The Paladins, equipped with specialized technology to track and trap jumpers, intensify their pursuit, forcing David and Griffin to unite to protect Millie and fight for their lives against Roland and his relentless hunters, leading to a climactic showdown that reveals truths about David's own family history and the origins of his powers.
