LOOPER (2012)
Summary:
In a future where time travel is outlawed but used by the mob to dispose of victims, "loopers" are assassins who kill targets sent back from the future. Joe, a successful looper, faces his ultimate assignment when his next target is an older version of himself. This unexpected turn forces him into a desperate struggle for survival and a moral dilemma that challenges his understanding of fate and consequence.
The film explores themes of free will versus destiny, the nature of violence, and the sacrifices one is willing to make for a perceived greater good. As both young and old Joe navigate a complex web of past decisions and future repercussions, they must confront their own identities and the impact of their actions on others.

Plot:
The year is 2044, and time travel is a black-market technology used by the mob to send people they want to erase back to the past. There, "loopers," assassins like Joe, kill the victims, ensuring no trace is left in the future. The most dangerous part of a looper's job is when they are sent their future self to kill, an act known as "closing the loop," which signifies their retirement with a lavish payout.
When Young Joe's future self is sent back, he hesitates, allowing Old Joe to escape. This breaks the sacred rule of closing the loop, making Young Joe a target for the mob boss Abe and his enforcers. Old Joe, meanwhile, has a mission of his own: to find and kill a child who, in the future, will become "The Rainmaker," a ruthless crime lord responsible for Old Joe's wife's death and the one who will eventually send him back in time. Young Joe must decide whether to protect his own future by killing Old Joe, or to prevent Old Joe from committing a terrible act that could alter both their timelines and the fate of an innocent child and her mother, Sara.
