Summary:
Mean Dreams is a tense and atmospheric crime thriller that follows two teenage lovers, Jonas and Casey. Detailed Plot (Movie Story):
The film is set in a quiet, rural town and introduces Jonas Ford (Josh Wiggins), a 15-year-old boy who lives a difficult life with his neglectful and alcoholic father. He is a good-hearted and observant young man who is trapped in a world of poverty and hopelessness.
His life changes when a new family moves to town. He meets Casey Caraway (Sophie Nélisse), a beautiful and mysterious girl who is a year older than him. They quickly form a deep connection, a bond that is built on their shared experiences of loneliness and their desire to escape their difficult lives.
The main conflict of the film is introduced when it is revealed that Casey's father, Wayne Caraway (Bill Paxton), is a corrupt police sergeant who is secretly involved in the drug trade.
