Plot:
IMF agent Ethan Hunt is extracted from a Russian prison by agents Jane Carter and Benji Dunn. Their mission to infiltrate the Kremlin to retrieve files on a nuclear extremist, Kurt Hendricks (codename: Cobalt), goes awry when an explosion destroys a large part of the building, framing the IMF. The U.S. President initiates "Ghost Protocol," disavowing the entire IMF, leaving Hunt and his team isolated and without support.
Forced to operate off-the-grid, Hunt, Carter, and Dunn are joined by IMF analyst William Brandt, whose past is shrouded in mystery. They track Hendricks' movements, first to Dubai, where they attempt a daring exchange of nuclear launch codes in the Burj Khalifa, involving elaborate disguises and gravity-defying stunts. The operation is compromised, leading to intense confrontations. Their pursuit then takes them to Mumbai, India, where Hendricks plans to acquire a satellite capable of delivering a nuclear payload.
