Summary:

Plot:

Lee Gates, the flamboyant host of the financial show "Money Monster," is in the middle of a live broadcast when Kyle Budwell, a truck driver who lost $60,000 after investing in a company Gates endorsed, storms the set. Armed with a gun and a bomb vest, Kyle takes Gates hostage, demanding that the stock's CEO, Walt Camby, confess to manipulating the market. The situation escalates quickly, with Gates and his producer, Patty Fenn, forced to keep the show live while trying to negotiate with Kyle and uncover the truth behind the sudden disappearance of $800 million from IBIS Clear Capital.

As the police and media converge on the studio, Patty works to maintain control from the production booth, using the live broadcast to investigate the IBIS stock crash. She discovers inconsistencies in the company's explanation of a "glitch" and begins to suspect foul play. With Kyle growing increasingly desperate and the bomb's detonator in hand, Gates and Patty must race against time to expose the corporate conspiracy, risking their lives to bring justice to Kyle and countless other investors who lost everything.
