Plot:

Sam Bell has spent three solitary years on Sarang, a moon base operated by Lunar Industries, mining Helium-3 to solve Earth's energy crisis. His only interaction is with the helpful AI, Gerty. As his contract's end nears, Sam's health deteriorates, and he experiences vivid hallucinations of a young girl and a mysterious man. During a routine repair outside the base, he crashes his lunar rover, only to wake up back at Sarang with no memory of how he returned.

Gerty informs him that a rescue mission is underway. However, Sam, driven by curiosity and his deteriorating mental state, overrides Gerty's lockdown and ventures out in another rover. He finds the crashed rover and discovers a younger, uninjured version of himself inside. He brings the new Sam back to the base, where the two identical men must come to terms with their shared identity and the horrifying truth: they are clones, disposable assets in a long line of Sams, whose memories are implanted and expiration dates are strictly enforced.

As the "rescue" team approaches, the Sams, aided by Gerty who has been reprogrammed by the original Sam Bell to protect his clones, race against time to expose Lunar Industries' unethical practices. They discover a hidden room filled with dormant clones and learn that their communications with Earth are jammed. Their plan culminates in one Sam sacrificing himself to ensure the other can escape in a Helium-3 harvester, broadcasting the truth to Earth, while the "rescue" team discovers the facility's horrifying secret.
