Summary:

Jake Tyler, a troubled teenager with a history of fighting, moves to Orlando, Florida, with his family. He struggles to fit into his new high school environment and is quickly drawn into the local underground fighting scene. After a humiliating defeat at the hands of the school's reigning champion, Jake seeks out a disciplined martial arts mentor to learn control, respect, and proper fighting techniques.

Plot:

Jake Tyler, a rebellious high school student, moves with his mother and younger brother from Iowa to Orlando, Florida, in the wake of his father's death and his own involvement in a public brawl. At his new school, he is an outsider and quickly learns about the prevalence of underground fighting. After being invited to a party by classmate Baja Miller, Jake is provoked into a fight with Ryan McCarthy, the school's arrogant and aggressive fighting champion. Jake is brutally defeated and humiliated in front of his peers, which deeply impacts him.

Determined to improve himself, Jake is introduced to Jean Roqua, a martial arts instructor known for his strict discipline. Roqua agrees to train Jake, but only under the condition that Jake promises never to fight outside of the gym. Under Roqua's guidance, Jake begins to learn not only fighting techniques but also self-control, discipline, and respect. He starts to build a relationship with Baja and finds a new sense of belonging. However, the desire for revenge against Ryan and the temptation of the underground fighting world continue to challenge Jake's commitment to Roqua's teachings, leading to an inevitable confrontation that tests everything he has learned.
