Kausalya Murugesan alias Kausi is the daughter of Murugesan, a farmer in Kulithalai, Karur. She aspires to become an international cricketer so that she can bring a smile on her cricket-loving father's face by leading the country to victory. The reason for this is shown in the opening scenes where Murugesan is very eager to watch India's matches in the 2007 Cricket World Cup. However, he was heartbroken to see India suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in the group stage. Murugesan controls his emotions in front of his daughter, but she sees him crying and being sad all night. Hence, 11-year-old Kaussi wishes to take cricket seriously, represent his country and win the World Cup one day for his father's sake.
When Koushi was 14 years old, she joined the local cricket team in her village, which was mostly made up of senior players from her school. Kaushal's off-spin bowling technique helps him get wickets and everyone starts appreciating his talent. At the same time, she also faces the wrath of many villagers because she plays cricket with the boys wearing a T-shirt and trousers, which is portrayed as non-traditional. However, Murugesan is not concerned about this and supports his daughter. Kaushik decided to appear for the Tamil Nadu team selection test, but was rejected in his first attempt. She does not give up and tries again where she succeeds and starts playing in the Tamil Nadu women's team. Her hard work paid off and she was selected in the Indian women's cricket team. Kaushik goes to Bangalore to train at a national cricket academy.
Meanwhile, Murugesan is facing tough times in farming, as he is unable to repay a loan of Rs. Snatched Rs 4 lakh from a bank, resulting in a rift between Murugesan and the bank manager. Due to internal politics Kaushik faces a tough time at the cricket academy as the senior players misbehave with her because she cannot speak Hindi. The team coach also hates Koushi and discourages him to a great extent. However, the coach retires, and a new coach named Nelson Dilipkumar comes in. Nelson, a former Indian cricketer, had to retire after his very first international match as he suffered a horrific eye injury which left him partially blind in his left eye. Nelson develops team spirit and prepares the players for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Nelson noticed Kouassi's spin bowling abilities and trained him on the right path. Nelson also liaises with the team selection committee and ensures that Kovaci is included in the World Cup squad. However, Nelson decided to rest Kouassi for the league matches, leaving her unhappy. However, Nelson revealed his strategy, saying that the intention was to hide Kouassi's talent from the opponents, and that his bowling would be a surprise element in the semi-finals.
Kouassi has been selected in the final eleven during the semi-final match against the strongest team, Australia. That day, Murugesan's house is taken away by the bank manager due to non-payment of loan. Kaushik hears this and feels bad that he is not with his father. However, Kovaci has been inspired by Nelson to make his father proud by playing well in the semi-finals. During the match, Kouassi bowled a hat-trick and also hit a six while batting, resulting in a tied match. Kosi again bowled well during the Super Over, leading to India's victory. Kausi was praised for his bowling efforts and was awarded Rs. Awarded. ₹5 lakh for the "Woman of the Match" award. While receiving the award, Kaushik gave an emotional speech describing the situation of his father and other farmers in the country. Murugesan feels very proud after seeing Kausi. In the closing credits, it is shown that Indian women won the T20 final against West Indies women and Kovasi was commended by the Tamil Nadu government for his brilliant bowling tactics.
