Plot:

Former Secret Service agent Mike Banning is relegated to a desk job after a tragic accident involving the First Lady. Eighteen months later, a heavily armed and meticulously organized group of North Korean terrorists, led by the ruthless Kang Yeonsak, launches a devastating coordinated attack on the White House, codenamed "Olympus Has Fallen." They breach the perimeter defenses, kill numerous Secret Service and military personnel, and eventually take President Benjamin Asher and several high-ranking officials hostage in the underground Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC). Kang's primary demand is the withdrawal of the U.S. Seventh Fleet from the Korean Peninsula, but his true objective is to detonate a nuclear weapon from the White House, causing widespread destruction and crippling the United States.

Banning, who was outside during the initial assault, manages to infiltrate the compromised White House. Working covertly with the acting President, Speaker Allan Trumbull, and the Pentagon from outside, Banning becomes the only agent on the inside capable of providing intelligence and attempting to neutralize the terrorists. He systematically takes down Kang's men, rescues the President's son, and eventually confronts Kang himself. Banning races against time to disarm the nuclear device and save the President, ultimately thwarting Kang's devastating plan and restoring order to the nation's capital.
