Summary:

Set in 1967 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters run a fake séance business to make ends meet. When they introduce a new prop, an Ouija board, the youngest daughter, Doris, inadvertently invites a genuine demonic entity into their home, leading to terrifying and supernatural occurrences.

Plot:

In 1967 Los Angeles, Alice Zander, a recently widowed mother, supports her daughters, Paulina (Lina) and Doris, by operating a fraudulent fortune-telling and séance service from their home. To make their act more convincing, Alice purchases an Ouija board. Doris, curious, secretly uses the board alone and makes contact with a spirit named Marcus. Soon after, Doris begins to display unsettling changes in her behavior, speaking in multiple languages, possessing knowledge of hidden secrets, and exhibiting a chilling, aggressive personality.

As the supernatural events escalate, including an attack on Lina's boyfriend Mikey and unsettling encounters witnessed by Father Tom, the principal of Lina's school, they discover that Doris is possessed by a confluence of tormented spirits. These spirits are revealed to be the victims of a Nazi doctor who performed horrific experiments in the house decades prior, and they now seek to inhabit living bodies. Alice attempts an exorcism, but it backfires dramatically, as the spirits manipulate the family with dark truths and lies. The family uncovers the house's gruesome history, leading to a desperate struggle against the malevolent entities. The climax sees shocking betrayals and sacrifices as the spirits try to complete their possession, culminating in a tragic and chilling fate for the surviving members of the Zander family, leaving a lasting legacy of terror.
