Plot:

Lifelong British friends and sci-fi fanatics, Graeme Willy and Clive Gollings, embark on their dream vacation: a road trip across the American Southwest, visiting famous UFO hotspots and attending Comic-Con. After a close encounter at the notorious "Black Mailbox" in Nevada, they stumble upon Paul, a wise-cracking, cigarette-smoking alien who has been held captive by the U.S. government for 60 years. Paul reveals he's on the run from federal agents, led by the ruthless Agent Zoil, and needs their help to return to his mothership.

The trio's journey quickly devolves into a chaotic chase as they attempt to evade the pursuing authorities. Along the way, they encounter Ruth Buggs, a one-eyed, fundamentalist Christian woman whose worldview is shattered when Paul reveals his true identity. Using his telepathic abilities, Paul restores Ruth's sight and opens her mind to the vastness of the universe, leading her to join their increasingly improbable quest. As they near Paul's designated rendezvous point, they also face a formidable female figure from Paul's past, adding another layer of danger and revelation to their mission. The film culminates in a dramatic showdown with the government, an emotional farewell, and a powerful testament to the bonds of friendship and acceptance.
