Summary:

Plot:

Following a disastrous performance at Lincoln Center for President Obama's birthday, where Fat Amy suffers a wardrobe malfunction, the Barden Bellas are suspended from all ICCA competitions. The only way they can be reinstated is if they win the A Cappella World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark. This seems an impossible task, as no American group has ever won the international competition.

As the Bellas prepare, Beca struggles to balance her commitment to the group with a demanding music internship under a tough producer. Emily Junk, a "legacy" Bella whose mother was also a Bella, joins the group, bringing her original songwriting talent which initially clashes with the Bellas' traditional covers. They face off against the reigning German champions, Das Sound Machine, led by the intimidating Kommissar and Pieter Krämer. Through a bonding retreat led by Aubrey Posen and a final "riff-off" against other groups, the Bellas rediscover their harmony and identity, ultimately performing a mix of their classic sound and Emily's original composition to win the World Championship, securing their legacy and future.
