Summary:

Power tells the story of two look-alikes: Baldev Sahay, a seemingly corrupt but ultimately principled ACP in Kolkata, and Tirupathi, a happy-go-lucky aspiring police officer in Hyderabad. When Baldev is presumed dead, the Home Minister of West Bengal recruits Tirupathi to impersonate Baldev to catch a notorious gangster, Ganguly. As Tirupathi steps into Baldev's shoes, he uncovers the truth behind Baldev's past, his unusual methods, and the intricate web of corruption he was trying to dismantle, leading to a thrilling conclusion.

Detailed Plot (Movie Story):

The film introduces Baldev Sahay (Ravi Teja), a seemingly corrupt and fearless Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Kolkata. He is known for his unusual methods and for striking deals with criminals, even rescuing a dreaded gangster named Ganguly Bhai (Sampath Raj) from being produced in court. However, during a high-octane chase, Baldev's jeep falls into a valley and explodes, leading everyone to believe he is dead.

Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, we meet Tirupathi (also Ravi Teja), a carefree and jovial young man whose life's sole ambition is to become a police officer. He lives with his brother-in-law, CI Animutyam (Brahmanandam), and often takes credit for Animutyam's minor arrests. Tirupathi falls in love with Nirupama (Hansika Motwani), a woman who claims to be an astrologer and gem trader, but is actually a con artist.

The Home Minister of West Bengal, Jayavardhan (Mukesh Rishi), is desperate to apprehend Ganguly Bhai, who is now at large. He notices Tirupathi on television, observing his striking resemblance to the supposedly deceased Baldev Sahay. Jayavardhan then approaches Tirupathi with a proposition: impersonate Baldev Sahay in Kolkata to apprehend Ganguly. Tirupathi, thrilled at the chance to live his dream of being a cop, accepts the offer.

Tirupathi arrives in Kolkata and begins his impersonation. He frees Ganguly Bhai from two of Baldev's former associates, Kundan (Ajay) and Rajeev (Subbaraju), who were actually honest cops working undercover with Baldev to expose Ganguly and Jayavardhan's corruption.

Through a series of flashbacks, the audience learns the truth about Baldev Sahay:

Baldev was indeed an honest and principled man. His mother (Vinaya Prasad) dreamed of him becoming a cop. When he passed the police selection, he was asked for a large bribe. To protect his mother, who needed surgery, from knowing the truth, he lied that he got selected. His mother, in her desire to see him as a cop, chose to forgo her surgery, which ultimately led to her death. Devastated, Baldev vowed to fight corruption from within, secretly taking bribes to fund the education and training of honest aspiring police candidates, and using his "corrupt" facade to get close to powerful criminals and expose them. He was engaged to Vaishnavi (Regina Cassandra), who ran an orphanage. Baldev's plan was to expose a major scam involving Ganguly Bhai and Jayavardhan, which also connected to the murder of another honest ACP, Gautham (Adithya Menon), and his family.

Back in the present, Tirupathi, initially unaware of Baldev's true nature, continues to follow Jayavardhan's instructions. However, he gradually starts uncovering inconsistencies and realizes that Baldev was not what he seemed. He learns that Baldev's supposed death was part of a larger plan by Jayavardhan and Ganguly to frame Baldev and take control. Tirupathi also gets hold of recording devices hidden in Nirupama's "lucky rings," which she gives to people, inadvertently recording conversations that expose corruption.

The film culminates in Tirupathi using his wit and Baldev's past groundwork to expose Jayavardhan's and Ganguly's crimes. He utilizes the recordings from Nirupama's rings to reveal the truth to the media. The climax features intense action sequences as Tirupathi brings the antagonists to justice. The truth about Baldev's noble intentions and sacrifices is eventually revealed.

The film ends with Tirupathi, now officially a police officer, continuing to live as Baldev Sahay in Kolkata, marrying Nirupama, and upholding justice, having completed Baldev's unfinished mission.
