Ragada (2010)
Summary:
Satya, a seemingly money-minded man, arrives in Hyderabad and quickly becomes involved in a gang war between two rival dons, G.K. and Peddanna. He allies himself with G.K., systematically eliminating Peddanna's associates. However, Satya's true motives are far deeper than mere money; he is on a personal mission to avenge a past tragedy linked to Peddanna's family and save a hospital that serves his hometown, leading to a high-stakes game of manipulation and retribution.
Detailed Plot (Movie Story):
The film opens with Satya Reddy (Nagarjuna Akkineni) arriving in Hyderabad. He quickly establishes himself as a fearless and cunning individual, ready to get involved in the city's underworld. He saves G.K. (Dev Gill), a local don, from an attack by rival gangsters. Impressed by Satya's fighting skills and intelligence, G.K. makes him his trusted partner and right-hand man.
Satya then strategically begins to dismantle the empire of G.K.'s arch-rival, Peddanna (Pradeep Rawat), a powerful and dreaded don in Andhra Pradesh. Peddanna has several key associates, including Jairam, Bhagavan, and Nanda. Satya systematically targets and eliminates these men, seemingly for G.K.'s benefit, which earns him respect and fear in the criminal circles.
During his time with G.K., Satya meets Sirisha (Anushka Shetty), G.K.'s love interest, who eventually falls in love with Satya. He also encounters Ashtalakshmi (Priyamani), who, along with her Brahmin family, seeks shelter with Satya after being chased by goons. Ashtalakshmi also develops feelings for Satya.
The film then reveals Satya's true backstory and motive through a flashback:
Satya was an orphan raised and cared for by a benevolent doctor in Kadapa. Her hospital was a lifeline for the people, who revered her. Peddanna's brother, Devendra (Sushant Singh), a ruthless political campaigner, attempts to kidnap the doctor's daughter to force her to endorse him. Satya intervenes, rescuing the daughter and beating up Devendra's men. Devendra's father, a powerful figure, had donated the land for the hospital, but now the hospital faces closure unless ₹72 crore is paid. Peddanna, enraged by Satya thrashing his brother, brutally murders the doctor. Devastated and fueled by a desire for vengeance against those who destroyed his life and to save the hospital, Satya sets out to earn the required money and eliminate Peddanna's gang. This is why he joined G.K., using the gang rivalry as a means to achieve his own objectives.
Back in the present, Satya continues his intricate game. He learns that Ashtalakshmi's elder brother was kidnapped by Peddanna's men long ago. Satya orchestrates a plan, frees Ashtalakshmi's brother, and helps them escape. However, a twist reveals that Ashtalakshmi and her brother had actually stolen ₹180 crore from Peddanna and flee to Bangkok.
Satya, now with Sirisha, follows them to Bangkok. There, he confronts Ashtalakshmi and reveals that he was aware of her plan all along. He was using the situation to track down Nanda, another one of Peddanna's key men, as he knew Ashtalakshmi's brother would lead him to Nanda for his share of the stolen money. Satya kills Nanda, completing another step in his revenge.
G.K., realizing Satya's true intentions and fearing for his own life, escapes to Dubai. Peddanna, in a desperate attempt to corner Satya, kidnaps his younger sister (implied from the backstory or a close associate) and tries to bury her alive. Satya arrives with Devendra (Peddanna's brother, whom he seemingly manipulates or controls in the climax). In a final, intense confrontation, Satya eliminates Peddanna's remaining men and his enforcer. He finally exacts his ultimate vengeance by killing Peddanna, thereby saving the hospital and completing his mission. Devendra is presumed to have escaped.
The film is known for its fast-paced narration, slick action sequences, a blend of romance with two heroines, and significant comedy tracks, particularly featuring Brahmanandam.
