Summary:
Samarasimha Reddy accidentally kills an innocent man named Vasu while avenging his family's murder. To atone for his mistake, he assumes Vasu's identity and cares for Vasu's sisters, but his past catches up to him when a vengeful woman discovers his true identity.
Plot:
In a small town, Kantamma, a cunning and greedy woman, runs a modest hotel where she rules with an iron fist. Despite her humble beginnings, she exploits everyone around her—especially her stepchildren. Vasu, her stepson, and his three sisters—Sangeeta, Sarala, and Saraswati—suffer immensely under her tyranny. Kantamma shows no love or compassion for the children, using them for chores and denying them basic needs, including food. One day, a frustrated Vasu confronts her when she refuses to let him feed his sisters. Unable to bear the injustice any longer, he rebels against her and flees the house, leaving his sisters behind with a heavy heart.
Years pass, and the once-thriving hotel of Kantamma begins to crumble. Her downfall is hastened by a new rival—Chittamma from Srikakulam—whose charm and business acumen lure customers away from Kantamma's hotel. Just when it seems all is lost, a mysterious and affable man named Abbulu joins Kantamma’s establishment as a worker. Through smart strategies and tireless effort, Abbulu revives the failing business, bringing back customers and profits. The turning point comes when Sangeeta, Sarala, and Saraswati discover a childhood photograph with Abbulu and recognize someone familiar. To their shock and joy, Abbulu reveals that he is, in fact, their long-lost brother Vasu. However, he urges them to keep his identity a secret, fearing Kantamma will expel him again if she discovers the truth.
With deep love for his sisters, Abbulu—now known to the audience as Vasu—sets out on a mission to restore their lives. He dreams of seeing Sangeeta happily married, Sarala educated, and Saraswati cured from her paralysis. To achieve this, he works tirelessly, saving every penny while cleverly manipulating Kantamma to serve his sisters' interests. As he navigates these efforts, his path crosses once more with Chittamma, and their frequent clashes evolve into mutual affection. Chittamma eventually falls for the seemingly simple yet selfless man who hides more than he reveals.
Meanwhile, a new thread of danger emerges. The sons of a notorious and now-amputated faction leader, Veera Raghava Reddy, are searching for Abbulu. They do not yet realize he is none other than the formidable Samarasimha Reddy. In a cunning move, Abbulu anonymously tips off the police about Reddy’s sons with the help of Kotilingam, getting them arrested. This action infuriates Veera Raghava Reddy, who, recognizing the capabilities of his enemy, summons his daughter Anjali from London. Fierce and resolute, Anjali vows to avenge her family's humiliation.
Back in town, trouble brews when the unruly brothers of a local thug, Aakula Bandabbai, harass Sangeeta at the hotel. Abbulu steps in, thrashes them, and humiliates them publicly. In retaliation, Bandabbai hatches a sinister plan to forcibly marry Sangeeta to his brother by bribing Kantamma. But Abbulu intervenes just in time, rescuing both Sangeeta and the ailing Saraswati. He then drops his facade and boldly declares that he is indeed Vasu, much to Kantamma’s shock.
However, this revelation is immediately overshadowed by Anjali’s dramatic entrance. She accuses him of being Samarasimha Reddy, the man responsible for Vasu's death. The three sisters, heartbroken and confused, turn against him, believing he betrayed them. They shun him, treating him with disdain, and Anjali’s men brutally beat him. Despite the pain, Samarasimha Reddy bears it with quiet dignity.
Finding shelter with Chittamma, Samarasimha Reddy finally reveals the truth. Years ago, he was a powerful figure in Rayalaseema—a fierce and noble man known for justice and strength, the son of faction leader Narasimha Reddy. After a fallout at home, he took Vasu under his wing, raising him like a brother. Their bond was unbreakable.
Their greatest enemy was Veera Raghava Reddy, who once suffered a devastating defeat at the hands of Samarasimha Reddy. Humiliated, Veera Raghava Reddy sought vengeance and, during a family outing for Samarasimha Reddy's engagement with his cousin Deepika, he launched a cowardly surprise attack. The massacre claimed the lives of Samarasimha Reddy's entire family. Enraged, he stormed Reddy’s stronghold and, in a symbolic act of punishment, amputated him instead of killing him. But during the bloody conflict, Vasu was accidentally stabbed by Samarasimha Reddy in the chaos. As he lay dying, Vasu begged him to care for his sisters. Honoring this final wish, Samarasimha Reddy took on the identity of Abbulu and dedicated his life to fulfilling his brother’s last request.
Back in the present, the sisters and Anjali, now understanding the truth, are overwhelmed with remorse. Anjali, realizing her mistake and touched by his loyalty, softens and eventually falls for Samarasimha Reddy. Encouraged by Chittamma, she proposes marriage to him. Initially, he refuses, burdened by guilt and a life filled with sorrow, but the sincere requests of those around him eventually win him over. They marry, hoping for peace.
But peace is short-lived. Veera Raghava Reddy cannot digest the union of his daughter with his enemy and furiously confronts her, denouncing her as the wife of his nemesis. However, Samarasimha Reddy protects her with courage and pride. His acts of integrity begin to change hearts. Even Veera Raghava Reddy’s sons start acknowledging the righteousness of their enemy.
In a dramatic finale, Veera Raghava Reddy, unable to bear his total defeat and the transformation of those around him, takes his own life. His suicide marks the end of a long chapter of hatred and violence. The land that once burned with bloodshed now breathes the air of peace and reconciliation.
The story closes on a hopeful note—Samarasimha Reddy, once a feared warrior, now lives as a loved guardian, husband, and peacemaker. His journey from violence to sacrifice and redemption is complete, fulfilling Vasu’s dying wish and giving his sisters the lives they deserved.
