Ready (2011) is a Bollywood action-comedy film starring Salman Khan and Asin, directed by Anees Bazmee. The story revolves around Prem Kapoor (Salman Khan), a fun-loving and mischievous young man who belongs to a wealthy family. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor, wish for him to settle down and get married, but Prem is not in a hurry. Meanwhile, his family arranges his marriage with a girl named Pooja, whom he has never met. These uncles, who have been entrusted with her guardianship after her parents’ tragic death, wish to forcefully marry her off to one of their allies to gain control of her inherited wealth. Unaware of the mix-up, Prem takes Sanjana to his home, where she pretends to be Pooja to avoid being captured by her uncles.
As days pass, Prem begins to realize Sanjana’s true identity and learns about her troubled past. Instead of exposing her, he sympathizes with her and gradually falls in love with her. Sanjana, too, finds solace in Prem’s presence and starts developing feelings for him. However, their romance faces challenges when Sanjana’s uncles track her down and demand that she be handed over to them. Prem, refusing to let them succeed, decides to stand up against them and protect Sanjana at all costs.
Prem, known for his playful yet cunning nature, devises an elaborate plan to outwit Sanjana’s uncles. He pretends to support their idea of marriage but secretly manipulates events to create confusion and discord between the uncles. Using a combination of humor, wit, and strategic tricks, he makes them believe that he is the perfect groom for Sanjana and convinces them to let him handle her affairs. The uncles, thinking they can still control the situation, agree to his proposal without realizing that they are walking into a trap.
While playing mind games with the uncles, Prem enlists the help of his family and friends to further frustrate their plans. He stages fake conflicts, orchestrates embarrassing situations for the uncles, and slowly exposes their greed to the people around them. As the tension builds, the uncles start to suspect Prem’s real intentions, leading to a series of hilarious and chaotic encounters.
Meanwhile, Prem and Sanjana’s relationship deepens, and they dream of a life together. However, before they can officially unite, Sanjana’s uncles uncover Prem’s scheme and decide to eliminate him. In an action-packed climax, Prem fights back against their goons, using his intelligence and physical strength to defeat them. With the support of his family and friends, he finally exposes their true nature to the public and ensures their downfall. The uncles are arrested, and Sanjana is freed from their clutches.
With all obstacles removed, Prem and Sanjana’s love triumphs. Their families, now fully supportive, arrange for their grand wedding. The film concludes with a joyful celebration, filled with music, dance, and laughter. Prem and Sanjana, now happily married, embark on a new journey together, symbolizing love, family unity, and the victory of good over evil.
