Two brothers face ridicule due to unemployment and their family's poor financial background. Consequently, their bond with each other and their love lives are deeply affected.

The story revolves around Relangi Mavayya, a kind-hearted man affectionately called by this name by his close family members. Residing in his hometown Relangi, he lives with his wife, mother, and three children – two sons named Peddodu (the "elder") and Chinnodu (the "younger"), and a daughter Chinni. Additionally, his niece Seetha, the daughter of Relangi Mavayya's late sister and her husband, is also a part of their close-knit family.

Peddodu, the elder son, is portrayed as an introverted individual who lives life on his own terms. On the other hand, Chinnodu is talkative, flirtatious, and brilliant. The family dynamics take a twist when Peddodu resigns from his job due to insults he faced at the hands of a relative, Brahmananda Rao. The general expectation within the family is that Seetha and Peddodu will eventually get married. However, there is an underlying tension, as Seetha harbors feelings for Peddodu but is unhappy with the way he addresses her.

Chinnodu falls for Geetha, the younger daughter of Seetha's paternal uncle, after attending the wedding of Geetha's elder sister. Geetha's father, a highly self-centered individual, constantly denigrates the economic status of Relangi Mavayya and criticizes the unemployment of his sons. Tensions escalate during Geetha's elder sister's wedding, where Peddodu and Geetha's father engage in a heated argument.

Following the wedding, Peddodu and Chinnodu leave for the city in search of employment. Geetha, hiding her family's presence, invites Chinnodu for lunch at a restaurant, where he confronts her father's demeaning comments about Peddodu and their family. This incident strains Chinnodu's relationship with Geetha, and Peddodu, witnessing their interaction, feels upset.

Geetha's father arranges a marriage proposal for Chinni, Seetha's cousin, to distract from the brewing tensions. However, Peddodu and Chinnodu's departure to the city exacerbates the strained relationships further. Geetha's father discourages Peddodu's interest in marrying Seetha and seeks a proposal for Seetha elsewhere. The proposal is initially accepted but ultimately falls through.

An unfortunate accident leads to Relangi Mavayya getting injured while protecting a young boy. During his hospitalization, tensions between Peddodu and Chinnodu escalate. However, a turn of events occurs during the annual Kalyanam of Rama and Sita in Bhadrachalam. Geetha and her family attend the event, and when a short circuit causes panic, Peddodu and Chinnodu set aside their differences to rescue Geetha's family and other devotees.

Witnessing their selfless act, Relangi Mavayya praises his sons and emphasizes the importance of adjusting, brotherhood, and family. This transformative moment leads to a reconciliation between Peddodu and Chinnodu. Geetha's father, having overheard their conversation, realizes his mistake. Peddodu expresses his willingness to marry Seetha by addressing her by her name.

Geetha's father, understanding the true essence of family, arranges the marriage of Peddodu and Seetha. The plan is also set in motion for Chinnodu to marry Geetha. The brothers, now in a better place emotionally, secure jobs and fulfill their paternal grandmother's desire by buying her bangles. The story concludes with the family finding harmony, understanding, and a renewed sense of love and unity.
