Plot:

The procedure transfers a person’s consciousness into a newly engineered, younger, stronger body grown in a laboratory.

Though skeptical at first, Damian eventually agrees. He stages his own death, says goodbye to his old life, and undergoes the procedure. When he wakes up, he now inhabits a young, healthy body (Ryan Reynolds). He adopts a new identity — Edward Kidner — and enjoys the pleasures of youth, freedom, and vitality. Everything seems perfect until he begins to experience disturbing visions, memories, and emotional flashes that do not belong to him.

These visions reveal fragments of another man’s life — a wife, a child, and a past filled with love and struggles. Confused and conflicted, Damian confronts Dr. Albright, who dismisses the visions as simple side effects of the shedding process. But as the memories intensify, Damian realizes the horrifying truth: the body he is using is not artificially grown — it once belonged to a real man.

Driven by guilt and curiosity, Damian travels to the locations from his visions. He discovers that the memories belong to Mark, a former soldier and family man who sacrificed his life in a desperate attempt to save his daughter. Damian meets Mark’s widow, Madeline (Natalie Martinez), and learns that the shedding company steals bodies from real people, erasing their minds and selling the bodies to wealthy clients.

As Damian uncovers the truth, he becomes a target of Dr. Albright, who cannot risk exposing the secret behind the illegal body‑transfer experiments. Damian’s new body — engineered to accept the consciousness transfer — requires daily pills to prevent rejection. Without them, Damian begins to lose control and Mark’s memories grow stronger.

Realizing that Mark’s daughter is in danger, Damian takes responsibility for the life he unintentionally stole. He uses his training, memory flashes, and physical strength to protect the family from Albright’s organization. A deadly confrontation follows as Damian fights both to survive and to set Mark’s family free from the corporation’s grip.

In the emotional final act, Damian makes a selfless choice: instead of continuing the shedding process and living in Mark’s body indefinitely, he decides to let Mark’s consciousness fully return. He stops taking the pills and records messages for Madeline and her daughter, ensuring they know the truth and have the closure they deserve.

The film ends with Mark’s restored consciousness reuniting with his family, while Damian’s legacy continues through the good he chose to do — proving that true immortality lies not in extending life, but in making meaningful choices.
