Plot:
Brennan Huff, a manchild approaching 40, still resides with his mother, Nancy. Similarly, Dale Doback, a year older, lives with his father, Robert. When Nancy and Robert meet at a conference, fall deeply in love, and decide to marry, Brennan and Dale are thrust together as reluctant step-brothers, forced to share a bedroom in Robert's upscale home. Their first encounter is hostile, leading to an immediate and intense rivalry characterized by escalating pranks, verbal abuse, and physical altercations, including a memorable incident involving a drum set and another with a golf cart.
Their parents, exasperated by their sons' destructive and infantile behavior, issue an ultimatum: find jobs and act like adults, or face eviction. Despite their initial hatred, Brennan and Dale discover shared interests, particularly a mutual love for kung fu movies and a surprising musical talent. This leads to a bizarre and profound friendship, making them inseparable but no less chaotic. Their attempts at job searching and starting an entertainment company, "Prestige Worldwide," are disastrous, further straining Nancy and Robert's marriage to the brink of divorce. Realizing the potential loss of their family unit, Brennan and Dale are finally compelled to mature, culminating in a climactic performance at a corporate event that showcases their unique bond and an unexpected glimmer of responsibility.
