"Tere Bina Kya Jeena" (1989) is a Hindi film that tells the story of a newly married couple, Amar (Shekhar Suman) and Meena (Moon Moon Sen), facing marital difficulties.
The core of the plot revolves around Amar's heavy work pressure, which causes him to neglect Meena and their married life. Meena becomes frustrated and decides to leave him. Distraught and unable to cope without his wife, Amar attempts to commit suicide multiple times, but fails each time.
In desperation, Amar hires a contract killer named Gazeb Singh (Satish Shah), who is apparently a patient escaped from a lunatic asylum, to end his life. Amar pays Gazeb Singh a handsome amount for the job.
However, as fate would have it, Meena's anger subsides, and she decides to return to Amar. They reconcile and are very happy to be together again. Amar tells Meena about his suicide attempts and even about hiring a killer, which they both initially find amusing, thinking the problem is resolved.
The twist comes when Gazeb Singh, being an "honest" contract killer, is determined to fulfill his agreement. He continuously haunts Amar, trying to kill him, despite Amar's explanations that he no longer wishes to die now that his wife has returned. Amar and Meena find themselves in a comical and terrifying predicament, trying to evade the persistent contract killer who refuses to give up on his mission. The film then becomes a suspenseful comedy as they try to escape Gazeb Singh's relentless attempts.
