Plot:

Michael Oher is a massive, quiet teenager with a difficult past, having been separated from his drug-addicted mother and cycling through foster homes. He is largely homeless and struggles academically, but his impressive size and protective instincts catch the attention of the football coach at Wingate Christian School. Leigh Anne Tuohy, a strong-willed interior designer and mother of two, spots Michael walking alone on a cold night and, after learning of his situation, invites him to stay at her family's opulent home for the night, an invitation that soon turns into a permanent arrangement.

The Tuohy family, including husband Sean and children Collins and S.J., gradually embrace Michael as one of their own. Leigh Anne becomes his fierce advocate, ensuring he gets the academic support he needs and pushing him to recognize his potential, particularly on the football field where his protective nature makes him an excellent offensive lineman. With the Tuohys' love, guidance, and a tutor named Miss Sue, Michael's grades improve enough for him to qualify for an NCAA Division I scholarship, leading him to accept an offer to play for the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), the Tuohys' alma mater, eventually leading to a successful NFL career.
