Summary:

Claire Peterson, a high school literature teacher recently separated from her cheating husband, finds her life turned upside down when a charming, seemingly innocent young man named Noah Sandborn moves in next door. Plot:

Claire Peterson is a high school teacher grappling with a crumbling marriage to Garrett, who cheated on her. She lives with her teenage son, Kevin, and her best friend Vicky, the school principal, encourages her to move on. One day, a handsome and charismatic 19-year-old, Noah Sandborn, moves into the house next door to care for his ailing great-uncle. Noah quickly befriends Kevin and begins to charm Claire, showing an interest in her life and literary tastes.

After a particularly difficult evening regarding her marriage, Claire has a moment of weakness and succumbs to Noah's advances, resulting in a passionate one-night stand. The next morning, Claire immediately regrets it and tries to end things, but Noah becomes possessive and manipulative. He enrolls in Claire's literature class, making her uncomfortable, and begins to stalk her. His obsession escalates as he sabotages her efforts to reconcile with Garrett, reveals their affair to Vicky, and ultimately threatens Claire's son and husband, forcing Claire to confront the dangerous consequences of her brief lapse in judgment.
