Plot:

Travis Shaw is a bachelor who enjoys his laid-back life in coastal North Carolina, surrounded by friends and family. His world is disrupted when Gabby Holland, a focused medical student, moves in next door. Their initial interactions are marked by bickering and misunderstandings, particularly over Travis's loud music and Gabby's dog. Despite their differences and Gabby being in a relationship with Dr. Ryan MacCarthy, an undeniable attraction begins to develop between Travis and Gabby.

As they spend more time together, their feelings deepen, leading Gabby to break off her engagement to Ryan and choose Travis. They marry and start a family, building a life together. Years later, a tragic car accident leaves Gabby in a coma. Travis is faced with the agonizing decision of whether to honor a past conversation with Gabby about not wanting to live without quality of life, or to cling to hope for her recovery. After much deliberation and an act of faith, he decides to keep her on life support, and against all odds, Gabby eventually wakes up, allowing them to continue their life together.
