Plot:

Benjamin Button is born in New Orleans in 1918, appearing as an elderly man with the physical ailments of old age. Abandoned by his horrified father, he is found and raised by Queenie, a kind caregiver in a retirement home. As Benjamin grows up, he physically de-ages, gradually shedding his elderly appearance and gaining vitality, while the people around him grow older.

Throughout his life, Benjamin has a complex and enduring relationship with Daisy, a young girl he meets in the retirement home. As Benjamin gets younger and Daisy gets older, their paths diverge and converge, eventually leading to a passionate romance and the birth of a daughter. However, their unique circumstances mean that as Benjamin becomes a young man, Daisy is reaching middle age. He eventually decides to leave so Daisy can raise their daughter without the burden of his reverse aging process.

Benjamin continues his journey of de-aging, becoming a teenager, then a child, and finally an infant, losing his memories and needing full-time care. Daisy, now an elderly woman, takes him in and cares for him until he dies in her arms as a newborn baby, just as she herself passes away from old age, bringing their intertwined, inverse lives to a poignant close.
