Plot:

The film opens with a meticulously orchestrated bank heist, where a group of masked criminals, including the Joker himself, systematically eliminate each other until only the Joker remains to escape with the mob's money. Batman defeats the Joker, who, despite his capture, gleefully declares that he has already won by corrupting Gotham's "White Knight" and showing that even the best can fall. He convinces Gordon to let him take the blame for Two-Face's murders, preserving Dent's image as a hero and maintaining the city's fragile sense of hope.

Gordon reluctantly agrees, smashing the Bat-Signal and initiating a city-wide manhunt for Batman.
