THE DO-OVER (2016)

Summary:

In "The Do-Over," two lifelong friends, Charlie McMillan and Max Kessler, find themselves stuck in unfulfilling lives. Max, a carefree and adventurous federal agent, convinces the downtrodden Charlie to fake their own deaths during a fishing trip. Their plan is to assume new identities and start fresh, leaving behind their mundane existences.

However, their elaborate scheme quickly unravels when they discover that the identities they've stolen belong to men who are deeply involved in criminal activities, leading them into a dangerous web of assassins, mistaken identities, and high-stakes action. The film blends buddy comedy with action-adventure as they try to survive their "do-over" gone wrong.

Plot:

Charlie McMillan is a miserable pharmacist with a demanding wife and ungrateful stepchildren. His life takes an unexpected turn when his old high school friend, the charismatic and seemingly successful Max Kessler, reappears. During a fishing trip, Max blows up their boat, faking their deaths and convincing Charlie to embrace new identities and a fresh start. They assume the lives of two deceased men, Roberta "Butch" Myers and Dr. Ronald P. Fishman, and head to Puerto Rico.

Their new lives quickly become complicated when they discover that "Butch" and "Ronald" were not the innocent men they appeared to be. They find themselves targeted by assassins and realize they've stepped into a dangerous world involving a cancer cure, a German crime lord, and a lot of money. As they try to evade their pursuers and uncover the truth about their stolen identities, Charlie and Max must rely on their strained friendship and newfound courage to survive the chaos and rectify the mess they've created.
