THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY - PART 2 (2015)

Summary:

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is the climactic final installment of The Hunger Games saga, picking up immediately after the events of Part 1. Katniss Everdeen, now a symbol of the rebellion known as "The Mockingjay," unites the districts of Panem in an all-out war against the tyrannical President Coriolanus Snow and the oppressive Capitol.

As the conflict escalates into a full-scale assault on the Capitol, Katniss must navigate moral dilemmas, personal betrayals, and the devastating realities of war. She discovers that the lines between good and evil are blurred, and that power can corrupt even those who claim to fight for freedom, ultimately leading her to question who the true enemy is and what price she is willing to pay for a new Panem.

Plot:

Following her recovery from being attacked by a brainwashed Peeta, Katniss Everdeen is more determined than ever to assassinate President Snow. She joins Squad 451, a propaganda unit led by Commander Paylor, ostensibly to film symbolic attacks on the Capitol. However, Katniss's true intention is to bypass the staged attacks, reach Snow, and personally end his reign. The squad, which includes Gale, Finnick, and eventually Peeta, navigates a booby-trapped Capitol, designed by the Gamemakers to be a deadly arena.

The journey through the Capitol is fraught with peril, leading to the deaths of several squad members, including Finnick Odair. As they close in on Snow's mansion, they witness a horrific attack where hovercrafts drop bombs on refugee children, followed by a second wave of bombs targeting the medics, including Katniss's younger sister, Prim, who is killed. Realizing the tactic is eerily similar to Gale's proposals for the rebellion, Katniss suspects President Coin, the leader of District 13 and the rebellion, is responsible for Prim's death. During Snow's public execution, Katniss, instead of killing Snow, shoots Coin with her arrow, avenging Prim and preventing Coin from becoming another dictator. Snow dies laughing. Katniss is acquitted, returns to District 12, and eventually rebuilds her life with Peeta, finding peace and raising a family.
