Plot:

The film opens in 1925, where Prince Albert, Duke of York, second son of King George V, endures a humiliating public speech due to a severe stammer. His wife, Elizabeth, discreetly seeks various speech therapists, but all attempts prove futile. Eventually, she contacts Lionel Logue, an unconventional Australian speech therapist who insists on treating Bertie in his modest London office with an informal approach, much to Bertie's initial disdain.

Logue's methods, which include physical exercises, vocal drills, and psychological exploration of Bertie's childhood traumas, are initially met with resistance. However, a breakthrough occurs when Bertie, listening to a recording Logue made of him speaking while distracted, hears himself speak perfectly. This encourages him to continue the sessions, slowly building a deep trust and friendship with Logue.

As the abdication crisis unfolds, with King Edward VIII's decision to marry Wallis Simpson, Bertie is unexpectedly propelled to the throne as King George VI. With the looming threat of war with Nazi Germany, the new King faces the daunting task of uniting and inspiring the nation through radio broadcasts. Logue becomes his indispensable confidant and coach, helping him prepare for his most crucial speech: the declaration of war broadcast in 1939.
