Plot:

Ethan Cooper operates a unique service where he is hired to discreetly end relationships deemed undesirable by his clients, often parents worried about their children's choices. Using a variety of psychological tactics and fabricated situations, he's adept at making couples believe they're incompatible. His new client, Mr. Harrison, wants Ethan to break up his daughter Hailey's engagement to Justin, a seemingly charming but struggling musician Mr. Harrison disapproves of.

As Ethan begins to infiltrate Hailey's life, posing as a new friend, he discovers she is genuinely kind, ambitious, and passionate about her work as a photographer. He witnesses the genuine affection between Hailey and Justin, which complicates his mission. Ethan starts to develop real feelings for Hailey, making it increasingly difficult to carry out his job. He finds himself torn between his professional obligation and his growing emotional attachment, leading him to question his own cynical philosophy about love and relationships. The climax involves Ethan having to make a choice: complete the breakup and collect his fee, or reveal his true intentions and risk everything for a chance at genuine connection with Hailey.
