Plot:
After being recruited by the British government to transport the Eye of Shangri-La, a mystical relic, to China, Rick and Evelyn O'Connell arrive in Shanghai. Unbeknownst to them, their son Alex has independently discovered the tomb of the Dragon Emperor, a tyrannical ancient ruler cursed centuries ago by the sorceress Zi Yuan and transformed into a terracotta statue. During the artifact's handover, the Emperor is accidentally revived, and he quickly reveals his plan to reach Shangri-La, gain immortality, and awaken his immense terracotta army.
The O'Connells, aided by Evelyn's brother Jonathan and the mysterious Lin (who is revealed to be Zi Yuan's immortal daughter), embark on a perilous journey to thwart the Emperor. Their quest takes them from the bustling streets of Shanghai through the treacherous snowy peaks of the Himalayas to the hidden valley of Shangri-La and ultimately to the Emperor's ancient burial ground, where a climactic battle unfolds to prevent him from unleashing his undead legions upon the modern world.
