Plot:
Kristen McKay and James Hoyt return to James's childhood summer home after a friend's wedding reception, their relationship strained by Kristen's rejection of James's marriage proposal. Their evening takes a terrifying turn when, around 4 AM, a mysterious young woman known as Dollface knocks on their door, asking "Is Tamara home?" Despite being told she has the wrong house, she leaves, only to return with two other masked figures—the Man in the Mask and Pin-Up Girl—to begin a prolonged and brutal home invasion.
The masked assailants systematically cut off the couple's escape routes and communication, playing psychological games before escalating to physical assaults. Kristen and James desperately try to evade and fight back against their tormentors, whose chilling motive is eventually revealed to be simply "because you were home." The film culminates in a brutal confrontation that leaves the couple gravely injured, highlighting the random and senseless nature of the violence inflicted upon them.
