Summary:

Doug MacRay is a career criminal and leader of a ruthless crew of bank robbers from Charlestown, Boston. After a violent bank heist, his partner, Jem Coughlin, briefly takes the bank manager, Claire Keesey, hostage. Fearing she might identify them, Doug tracks Claire down to ascertain what she saw. However, he soon develops genuine feelings for her, complicating his dangerous life and putting him at odds with his friends, the FBI, and the unwritten code of loyalty in their close-knit criminal community.

Plot:

The film opens with Doug MacRay and his crew, including his volatile best friend Jem, robbing a bank in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During the heist, Jem becomes overly aggressive and briefly takes bank manager Claire Keesey hostage before releasing her. Fearing Claire might identify them, Doug begins to secretly follow her. He eventually orchestrates a "chance" meeting and begins a relationship with her, initially to determine what she knows. However, Doug genuinely falls for Claire, creating a deep internal conflict as he tries to balance his burgeoning feelings with his criminal life and loyalty to his crew.

Meanwhile, FBI Special Agent Adam Frawley leads the investigation, relentlessly pursuing Doug's crew. As the pressure mounts, Doug attempts to find a way out of his life of crime for Claire. The crew is forced into one final, high-stakes heist at Fenway Park, orchestrated by the mysterious florist, Fergie, who holds leverage over Doug. The heist goes disastrously wrong, leading to intense shootouts and the deaths of Jem and other crew members. Doug manages to escape, leaving Claire a hidden message and a bag of money, choosing to sacrifice his chance at a life with her to ensure her safety and his own freedom, beginning a new life on the run.
