Plot:

Bella Swan awakens as a vampire, completing her transformation and quickly mastering her enhanced senses and strength. She discovers her daughter, Renesmee, is a unique hybrid who ages rapidly and possesses the ability to show others her thoughts through touch. The Cullens enjoy a period of fragile peace until Irina, a member of the Denali coven, mistakenly identifies Renesmee as an "immortal child" – a human child turned into a vampire, a creation strictly forbidden by the Volturi due to their uncontrollable nature.

Irina reports Renesmee to the Volturi, who, without verifying the claim, decide to eradicate the Cullens and Renesmee for breaking their laws. Foreseeing a devastating conflict, Carlisle and Edward begin to gather vampire allies from around the world to stand as witnesses and prove Renesmee's unique, non-threatening nature. As various covens arrive, Bella discovers her own unique vampire ability: a powerful mental shield that can protect herself and others from psychic attacks. Jacob Black, having imprinted on Renesmee, remains her steadfast protector.

The film builds to a dramatic confrontation on a snow-covered field between the assembled vampire allies and the formidable Volturi, led by Aro, Caius, and Marcus.
