Summary:

Bella Brown is a young woman living in London with severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, which manifests in her meticulously ordered but emotionally isolated life. She dreams of writing a children's book, but her life is thrown into disarray when her demanding landlord threatens her with eviction if she doesn't tend to her neglected garden within a month. Plot:

Bella Brown works as a librarian and lives a life dictated by rigid routines due to her OCD. She spends her free time trying to write a children's book, but struggles with inspiration. Her landlord, an intimidating figure, gives her an ultimatum: either she rehabilitates her wildly overgrown garden within 30 days, or she faces eviction. Overwhelmed by the task and her fear of the natural world, Bella initially despairs, but the threat of losing her home forces her to confront her anxieties.

Her reluctant efforts draw the attention of her elderly, wealthy, and highly critical next-door neighbor, Alfie Stephenson, a retired horticulturalist who despises her untamed garden. Despite their initial animosity, Alfie begins to offer unsolicited advice, slowly becoming Bella's mentor in gardening. With the help of Alfie's compassionate cook, Billy, and a charming, quirky inventor named Vernon who frequents the library, Bella starts to make progress, not just in her garden but also in her personal growth, learning to embrace imperfection and form genuine connections with others.
