In 1953, Raj Kumar Gupta, driven by ambition, abandons his pregnant girlfriend Shanti to marry the wealthy Kamini. Shanti, heartbroken but resolute, raises their son Vijay alone. Twenty-five years later, after Shanti's death, Vijay arrives in Delhi seeking revenge on the father he never knew, aiming to dismantle Gupta's business empire.
Gupta's son Shekhar, recently returned from abroad, and his sister Kusum find themselves caught in the crossfire of Vijay's vengeance. Vijay's path crosses with Geeta, Gupta's loyal secretary. Though initially resistant to his attempts to bribe her for information, a connection forms between them. Vijay, through other means, gains crucial business intelligence, leading to his own success and Gupta's losses. Gupta, mistakenly believing Geeta betrayed him, fires her, only to be confronted with the truth by Vijay, who then hires her himself.
Vijay's growing influence brings him into contact with Sheetal, Shekhar's girlfriend, and he manipulates their relationship, further fueling the rivalry with his father. The conflict escalates, with both Vijay and Gupta willing to compromise their principles. Vijay even supports Kusum's marriage against her father's wishes. A heated confrontation with Shekhar leads to Geeta revealing the truth: Vijay is Shekhar's brother. Overwhelmed with shame, Shekhar and Kusum leave their father's house.
As Kusum's wedding approaches, Shekhar asks Vijay to give her away, a request that enrages Gupta, who then hires a hitman, Balwant Rai, to eliminate Vijay. Meanwhile, Vijay confronts Gupta, revealing Shanti's death and his true identity. Gupta, reeling from this revelation, desperately tries to stop Balwant, but it's too late. Balwant has kidnapped Kusum's fiancé, Ravi, as leverage against Vijay.
In a dramatic showdown, Vijay, with the help of Shekhar and a repentant Gupta, rescues Ravi. Balwant attempts to shoot Vijay, but Gupta sacrifices himself, taking the bullet. With his dying breath, Gupta begs for Vijay's forgiveness, which is granted. The family is reunited, and Vijay and Shekhar rename Vijay's company "Shanti-Raj Constructions," a testament to their shared heritage.
