Plot:

The film opens with an alien entity assembling itself into the form of a young woman (Scarlett Johansson), who takes on the name Laura. She acquires a white van and begins driving through the Scottish countryside, picking up various men. Her method involves engaging them in conversation, luring them back to her isolated house, and then seducing them. Inside, she leads them into a dark, liquid abyss where they are slowly submerged and dissolved, their bodies reduced to empty husks, while a mysterious motorcyclist monitors her activities and disposes of any evidence.

As Laura continues her work, a subtle shift begins within her. An encounter with a severely disfigured man evokes an unexpected moment of hesitation, and she ultimately allows him to escape her trap. This act marks a turning point, as she abandons her mission and attempts to experience human life, struggling with basic human interactions and a growing sense of self-awareness. Her attempts to forge connections, including a tentative sexual encounter, prove challenging and ultimately lead to a horrifying confrontation in the forest, where her true alien nature is discovered, leading to her desperate flight and eventual demise at the hands of a logger who sets her on fire.
